Open Door Community Health Centers was established in 1971. For nearly 50 years, we have met our population’s healthcare needs, and are the medical home to over 60% of the community. We are a private, non-profit FQHC with stable and innovative management, and we strive to offer comprehensive care and outstanding service. We take an integrated approach to health care, focusing on prevention, self-management, and health maintenance by engaging each patient as a key member of the care team.
Open Door now has 12 community health centers across Humboldt and Del Norte counties – a service area larger than the state of Connecticut – serving more than 55,000 patients a year and employing almost 700 members of the community.
We are located among the giant redwoods on California’s North Coast between the Trinity Alps and the Pacific Ocean. Humboldt and Del Norte are rural counties with coastal towns and small cities offering something for everyone. Our recreational and cultural opportunities will amaze and amuse year-round.
