The purpose of Neighborhood Health Clinics, Inc. is to identify the needs of and to provide quality comprehensive health services to those persons unable to access the normal health care delivery systems. This is to be done in an effective manner with respect and sensitivity to those being served.

Fort Wayne is the 2nd largest city in Indiana with approximately 250,000 people living in the city, and a combined metropolitan population of approximately 565,000. Fort Wayne is home to 86 parks and playgrounds. Since the 1970s, Fort Wayne developed a 24 miles system of walking and biking trails along the riverbanks, known as the Rivergreenway, beautifying the riverfronts and promoting healthier living habits for residents. As of 2013, the Rivergreenway had expanded with additional trails to encompass 70 miles throughout the city and county.
