Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS) is a Community Health Center in Central Washington State. Yakima is a metropolitan community, rich in culture and, for a health professional, rich in opportunities to make a difference in people's lives.

YNHS has a commitment to quality and team-centered care. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and are the first Community Health Center in Washington State to be recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Center for Quality Assurance (NCQA). We have a robust integrated Electronic Health Record system, which brings together medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, outreach, housing services, and public health information.

YNHS also has a special focus to serve the homeless, and residents in public housing of Yakima County. We have several satellite clinics, targeted outreach services, medical respite care, and housing programs to help homeless individuals and families work toward self-sufficiency in our community. We also provide housing, medical respite care, and support services for about 70 homeless households in Yakima County.  We have six sites providing primary medical/behavioral health care, and three of them currently offer dental services.  All sites are within a thirty-five-mile radius of each other. In addition, we have a small mobile medical unit, where a Nurse Practitioner travels with an outreach worker to large housing projects in the rural parts of our valley to reach out to families who may have difficulty coming to one of our clinics.

We are looking for providers who are mission-oriented and wanting to work with a multi-disciplined health team to get patients the care they need. Our team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, behavioral health counselors, public health nurses, nutritionists, outreach workers, housing specialists, case managers, access (eligibility) specialists, dentists, dental hygienists, and a cadre of support staff. Together, our goal is to create a quality comprehensive system of care that is simple for our patients to navigate.

All the YNHS sites are a fast-paced environment, both in the clinic and on the streets, and requires a great deal of flexibility, compassion, and creativity. We are committed to hiring individuals who share a sense of compassion for the underserved, and passion for quality. Most people find the work very rewarding.

If this sounds like something you’re looking for, we’d be interested in hearing back from you on how you see yourself fitting into a Community Health Center such as ours, and what you might offer to our team. We hope to hear from you soon!

Looking for a fresh start? Business Week Magazine recently rated Yakima as one of the best places in the country to start over.

With the scenery of the Cascade mountains and Washington State's most densely populated wine and fruit region, it's no wonder Yakima is one of the best places to live. The Yakima Valley is a perfect hub for day trips throughout the Central Washington region, and numerous historic towns and scenic wonders are within an hour drive. Outstanding recreational opportunities, mixed with nearly 300 days of sunshine annually, make Yakima an excellent place to live.

The City of Yakima is 16.83 square miles. Yakima County ranks 7th in population in Washington State with more than 200,000 inhabitants and covers 4,296 square miles. Located in the south-central part of Washington State, Yakima is within easy driving distance to Seattle (145 miles), Spokane (201 miles) and Portland, Oregon (185 miles).

The climate of the Yakima Valley is mild and dry. The summers are dry and hot and winters are cool with light snowfall. Summer afternoons are hot, but, due to the dry air, there is a rapid fall in temperatures after sunset. Total precipitation for the Valley is relatively small.

Weather, central location, affordability and an abundance of activities offer a quality of life hard to match.
