Five Decades of Community Care

When VCC first opened in 1972, we set out to provide quality health care to anyone who walked through our doors.

Today, nearly 50 years later, we’ve helped redefine the community clinic model by pioneering innovative models of primary care delivery.

With nine state-of-the-art clinics treating more than 69,000 patients every year, VCC is a key health provider for the Southern California region.

More than that, however, we’re a place where all members of our community can feel welcome, safe, and empowered to choose health.

Redefining the Community Clinic

At VCC, we’re helping to redefine what it means to be a community clinic.
Community health centers (CHCs) empower communities that have been disproportionally impacted by social determinants of health. We provide healthcare in communities where there are few or no options for care or where systemic barriers to care have been created.

Additional Recreation Information

Located just seven miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in northern San Diego County, the City of Vista has a perfect, mild Mediterranean climate. Residents enjoy a wide range of year-round outdoor activities in a setting of gentle rolling hills and pleasant rural surroundings. Vista is approximately 19 square miles with a population of 103,381.

Vista is 78 Corridor’s craft beer capital. As of 2020, Vista had 23 breweries, with more in development, making it the city with the most breweries per capita in the United States. Home to Eppig Brewing, Booze Brothers Brewery, Helia Brewing Company, Prohibition Brewing Company, Aztec Brewing Company, and many others, Vista is a craft beer enthusiast’s heaven.

However, Vista is not known for just its craft beer industry. Many of San Diego County’s most prominent companies in maritime, medical device manufacturing, and sports & active lifestyle are located in Vista’s vibrant 14 million square foot Business Park. Vista is home to companies such as Applied Membranes – one of the founding companies in the membrane separation industry; and Aqua Lung – founded by Jacques Cousteau, who launched the SCUBA industry.

In addition to its entrepreneurial ethos, Vista offers an incredible amount of activities for residents. 78 Corridor residents, businesses, and visitors can experience the quaint downtown, watch a Broadway production at the Moonlight Amphitheater, and visit many of its natural, scenic parks.

The 78 Corridor’s opportunities for growth and innovation aren’t the only thing we’ve got to boast. The quality of life in North County San Diego is unparalleled. From beautiful beaches and temperate weather year-round to great schools and quaint neighborhoods, this is where you’ll want to work, live and play.
