From humble beginnings in 1981, the Health Center has grown from one site with five employees to four sites with over one hundred and sixty employees and an annual budget of approximately $17 million.

Together, we have four locations serving multiple parishes in Louisiana. SWLA Center for Health Services is honored to serve our community (patients) with respect and dignity as we strive to provide the highest quality health care. We use a patient-centered approach and we are accredited by the Joint Commission of Health care Organization since 2006.

Allen Parish is located in southwest Louisiana. This large rural community is known for its farming, hunting, fishing, and canoeing.

We are the home of the Coushatta Indian tribe known as the “Red Shoes People” and the Coushatta Casino Resort, the largest land-based casino in Louisiana. The Coushatta Casino Resort has over 2,800 slots and 70 gaming tables. There is a Kid’s Quest for the young ones and plenty of food for everyone. And don’t forget the Dream Pool for cooling off during these hot Louisiana summers!

If you love the outdoor life, we have hunting at West Bay Game Reserve and at Dry Creek Ranch. If fishing is more your style, the Calcasieu River and the Ouiska Chitto creek offers many opportunities for that “big” catch! Canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the Ouiska Chitto is a chance to get away from it all on a peaceful trip down river with beautiful, white sand beaches for picnicking or overnight stays.
