From humble beginnings in 1981, the Health Center has grown from one site with five employees to four sites with over one hundred and sixty employees and an annual budget of approximately $17 million.

Together, we have four locations serving multiple parishes in Louisiana. SWLA Center for Health Services is honored to serve our community (patients) with respect and dignity as we strive to provide the highest quality health care. We use a patient-centered approach and we are accredited by the Joint Commission of Health care Organization since 2006.

Lafayette, LA

Additional Recreation Information

The area of Lafayette, Louisiana is at the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun and Creole Country, an area known as the ‘Happiest City in America’. The rich cultural history, the tasty culinary scene and the distinctive Cajun and Zydeco music are all part of the cultural legacy created by the diverse people who settled here — Acadian, Creole, French, African, Spanish, Italian and Native Americans. It’s an area where the Cajun dialect is still spoken.

There’s a reason The New York Times calls South Louisiana “the last cohesive cultural enclave in the United States.” From its vibrant hub city of Lafayette to neighboring locales rich with Acadian French heritage, South Louisiana’s residents stay true to their Cajun and Creole roots.

It’s a place where the home and heart meet — a colorful mixture of bootstrap-grabbers and envelope-pushers who never sacrifice quality for quantity. A place where working hard means playing harder — and where the only standard of living is living well.
