Located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Winchester-Frederick County is home to the City of Winchester and the Towns of Stephens City and Middletown. Winchester is the oldest city west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In Old Town, visitors can dine alfresco, discover unique shops, see centuries-old architecture, and explore museums. Old Town Winchester's two-block pedestrian mall was the first of its kind in Virginia. Winchester is also home to the culturally and academically vibrant Shenandoah University. For over 90 years the city has hosted its signature event, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Everything for day-to-day living is within walking distance or accessible by public transportation; and within a short drive, a world of possibilities opens – vineyards, national parks, golf courses, and even our nation’s capital.
