Speaking of riverfront, our location on the beautiful Rock River provides our community and visitors alike with boating, paddling, and fishing activities. During the Dixon Petunia festival, held every 4th of July week, events are held all along the river or within blocks of the river. The fireworks are a sight to behold as they explode over the river.

Sitting majestically on the Rock River, Lowell Park offers 200 acres of refuge from the clamor of modern day life. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Lowell park is where Ronald Reagan served as a lifeguard for seven summers saving some 77 lives during his charge.
