Additional Information: The Surgical Service Section of the Reno VA Medical Center provides surgical care in outpatient and inpatient settings throughout the facility. Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent and elective conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
Functions/Scope
Evaluate and treat general surgery emergencies in the emergency department, inpatient wards, ICU and operating room
Provide quality outpatient care in accordance with approved clinical privileges.
Maintain a high degree of excellence in clinical outcomes while providing efficient patient care throughout
Maintain professional competency, courtesy and flexibility and provide the necessary services of this specialty.
Attend and participate in outpatient clinics and take an active role in the evaluation of the patient, decision for treatment/care, and complete timely documentation in the patient electronic records.
