Montefiore Medical Group - Grand Concourse

Facility Details

Montefiore Health System’s network of primary care practices, known as Montefiore Medical Group (MMG), has provided exceptional healthcare services to families since 1947. Both our primary care doctors and specialists treat the unique needs of children and adults at more than 20 locations throughout the Bronx and Westchester County.

MMG is dedicated to supporting and understanding the unique needs of communities where Montefiore has a presence and has been instrumental in Montefiore’s long-standing mission to provide a fully cohesive healthcare delivery system. In addition, MMG functions as an important training venue where the physicians of tomorrow learn to care for patients in one of the most sophisticated, urban, primary care environments available anywhere. Many MMG sites are members of the Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). BCHN-sponsored FQHCs provide access to affordable, quality, comprehensive health care that includes dental, mental health, social work, nutrition, health education and pharmacy services.

The Bronx is the northernmost of the five boroughs of New York City. Located north of Manhattan and Queens, and south of Westchester County, the Bronx is the only borough that is located primarily on the mainland.

People all around the world know the Bronx as the home of the New York Yankees, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden—not to mention as the birthplace of hip-hop. Look deeper and you’ll discover the quaint maritime village of City Island, the cultural attractions of Fordham and Belmont, aka the “real Little Italy,” centered on the restaurants and cafés of Arthur Avenue. Grand Concourse, in the South Bronx, is full of art deco marvels.

Education in the Bronx is provided by a large number of public and private institutions, many of which draw students who live beyond the Bronx. The New York City Department of Education manages public non-charter schools in the borough.
