Compensation:
- New graduate salary starts at $32.25/hr; increases with experience
- $2.50 shift differential for nights, $2.50 shift differential for weekends
Additional Information: Medical oncology unit consist of patients with a cancer diagnosis, medical step-down patients, & general medical overflow.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regularly assesses patient's needs & provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician authorized plan of care, & accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Provides direct resident care, including medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, etc.
- Evaluates effectiveness of treatment plan & makes suggestions or participates in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members, utilizing current information to improve patient care.
- Processes physician orders & performs physician ordered care
- Follows up regarding medication changes and order clarifications
Qualifications:
- ADN required; BSN preferred
- Basic knowledge of pathophysiology of cancer and be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients on this unit
