Job Description

  • Additional Information: Director of Nursing (DON) leads the Nursing Department, overseeing clinical operations, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance across OPWDD/DOH-certified ICF programs. Responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centered care, the DON manages nursing staff (RNs/LPNs), care planning, medication/AMAP oversight, and interdisciplinary coordination. The role drives quality improvement, policy development, workforce training, and survey readiness, while maintaining compliance with CMS, DOH, and OPWDD standards. Requires NYS RN licensure and 3–5 years of clinical leadership experience (IDD/OPWDD preferred). Strong communication, critical thinking, and EHR knowledge essential; familiarity with Orthodox Jewish practices preferred.
