Staten Island, NY

Additional Community Information
Additional Recreation Information

Across the harbor from Manhattan is an island of adventure, curiosities, great food, and natural spaces. A free ferry ride away, Staten Island is home to several cultural attractions, world-class shopping and accommodations, restaurants, and so much more.

North Shore

Staten Island’s North Shore is anchored by our famous Staten Island Ferry. The ferry marks the hub of the Island’s transportation system with a train, several bus lines, and cars beginning their journeys at the terminal. Within walking distance are the Staten Island 9/11 Memorial, the National Lighthouse Museum, the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, the St. George Theatre, and very soon, the Empire Outlets. The corridor is also flavored with an array of restaurants – from Sri Lankan to Italian, to Spanish, to African, to American, and beyond. Two local breweries are close by for an afternoon drink or nightcap.

Mid-Island

The mid-island is accessible by train, bus, or car and is home to the city’s only historic village, Historic Richmond Town, where history lives on through daily talks, tours, and demonstrations. Just up the hill is the truly unique Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, which is more reminiscent of the Himalayas than a suburb. Our beachfront is close by, featuring restaurants and recreation.

South Shore

Boasting the Conference House and Conference House Park at the southernmost point of New York State, the South Shore features several historic sites, natural spaces, shopping, and restaurants.
