Community Health Centers of the Central Coast began operation in 1978 – in a small, modest building in Nipomo, California. Back then, the mission was simple and still holds: To enhance the health status of all people in the Central Coast of California, with particular emphasis on the medically underserved.
Today, Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. remains a ‘safety net’ provider, with over 31 state-licensed facilities/clinics. CHC provides over 450,000 medical visits annually and cares for nearly 150,000 individual patients, from the Lompoc flower and wine valley to the picturesque coastal community of Cambria.
While the CHC headquarters are located in Santa Maria, the reach of our clinics stretches as far north as the quaint, picturesque small town of Cambria and as far south as the flower fields of the Lompoc Valley.
Nearly a 93-mile stretch along the central coast corridors of Interstate Highway 101 and the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway 1. Most of the communities with CHC clinics offer a small-town feel with modern conveniences along with an abundance of exceptional dining options, wineries, majestic beaches a stone’s throw away, lakes, and golf courses.
