SAMC has served the Hollywood area of Los Angeles County (LAC) since 1986. Since inception SAMC has expanded its area of service to Los Angeles communities further south and east under the leadership of its founder and Chief Executive Officer, (CEO), Awad Anthony, M.D.

SAMC became a non-profit organization in the year 2000 to fulfill its goal to serve and assist the poor and needy population of these areas. St. Anthony Medical Centers (SAMC) was designated as a FQHC-LA in June of 2001.
