Job Description

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available)

  • Average patients seen: Clinical Volume: 15–20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500
  • Call Schedule: Call: 1:6, providing nightly and weekend cross-coverage for UVA Culpeper, Prince William, and Haymarket Medical Centers

  • Additional Information: UVA Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our expanding UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line in Northern Virginia. Based primarily at UVA Culpeper Medical Center and UVA Gainesville Cancer Center, this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across multiple community locations, supported by the strength of the University of Virginia's academic medical center.

    Additional Practice Highlights:

    - Hospital Census: Average 0-2 patients daily when rounding

    - Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies (approx. 20 per year)

    - Virtual Health: Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice

    - Support Team: Advanced Practice Clinicians (consult only), plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services

    - Teaching Opportunities: Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0-2 per year rotate through)
