Altura Centers for Health - Pediatrics-Leland

Facility Details

Altura Centers for Health formerly (TCHC) has been providing medical and dental care to the community since 1995.

Historically the clinic was owned and operated by Tulare Local Health Care District. It was purchased from Tulare District Hospital (TDH) and Altura first became a Federal Qualified Look-A-Like Clinic in 1997. In 2000 we officially became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and are an FTCA deemed facility.

Altura is governed by a committed Volunteer Community Board of Directors which meet once a month and serve on several committees. The majority of the Board of Directors are patients of Altura making our facility a clinic governed by its patients and the community. The majority of our providers are contracted with the clinic allowing us to have many specialists available to our patients. This has resulted in a continuity of providers allowing the patient and provider to build a long-lasting relationship.

Additional Community Information
Additional Recreation Information

Location is one of Tulare’s best assets. The city is situated in the Central San Joaquin Valley along Highway 99, 45 miles south of Fresno and 60 miles north of Bakersfield. Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area are less than a 4-hour drive. The Central Valley is perhaps the most diverse and surprising region in the entire state. You'll discover cities and counties immersed in pioneering civic environmental and technological projects, world-class artistic and cultural facilities, symphonies, theatre companies, and museums. You'll find virtually unlimited opportunities for outdoor recreation and spectacular scenery: rafting the world-class rapids of the Kern River, hiking the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park, scrambling through Red Rock Canyon State Park near Ridgecrest, gazing in wonder at the heads of majestic elk protected at the Tule Elk Natural Reserve.

The Central Valley is as rich in adventures and experiences as it is in agricultural and history. It truly is the "Greater Garden in the World."
